The Learning Experience calls for submissions for a poetry contest. See information below:
CALL FOR POETRY TO COMMEMORATE VE DAY
AT The Learning Experience WAR MEMORIAL WALL
A poetry contest in remembrance of World War Two VE Day is being sponsored by The Learning Experience as part of its VE Day Dance and Commemoration on May 9 at the TLE War Memorial Wall in Second Life.
Poets are invited to submit poems of up to 40 lines on a topic related to World War II: the war itself, the end of war, victory, rationing and sacrifice on the home front, the Holocaust and so on. In alignment with the purpose of the TLE War Memorial Wall itself, poetry is welcome from the point of view of any nation or “side” of that war.
You can teleport to the mail drop for the poetry by clicking here.
Up to three poems will receive awards, based on the quality of the writing and the relevance to the theme. The winning poems will be placed on extended display at the Memorial Wall.
1st Prize – 1000L
2nd Prize – 500L
3rd Prize – 250L
Three accomplished Poetry Judges will be judging and voting on their favorites. Two of these are NOT on TLE staff, to keep this impartial. Winners will be announced and receive their awards a week after the event.
Additionally, The Learning Experience Publishing House will produce a book in Second Life, as part of its huge library with all the poems submitted. If you do not wish your poem published in this book you MUST note this on the notecard.
DUE DATE: Poems must be submitted no later than 12:01 a.m. SLT on Friday, May 8, via a notecard at the following location:
VE Day Poetry Contest Mailbox near the entrance to the TLE War Memorial Wall. (SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ileina%20Cove/106/199/22)
The notecard properties must be set to full permissions, and the SL avatar name of the poet must be included in the contents of the notecard.
THE FINE PRINT: Authors may submit more than one poem, but each poem submitted must be provided on a separate notecard. All poetry submitted must be original. Previously published poetry is perfectly fine, as long as the submitter retains the rights to the poem for republishing. By submitting the poem, the author certifies he/she is the author and has the right to allow TLE to publish the poem via display in Second Life.
Once again, you can teleport to the Memorial Wall by clicking here.

Survey Responses
Last week we released a survey and asked for resident feedback on all elements of the Cove Islands service. We received an overwhelming response. So first and foremost, thank you to all those who took the time to take part! We did promise a random winner of L$ 1500 tier to be selected from those who took part and we have drawn this winner!
(Ever feel like you need drum rolls?)
CONGRATULATIONS GIZZY NUBALO who was the random winner and will receive 1500L in tier credit!
We have achieved what we hope to achieve with the survey in finding out how residents feel about the service and how we can improve it. While our feedback was generally very good and it seems that the vasy majority of the respondants are happy with the service, we did receive pointers on where it might be improved. There were 2 things in particular regard to support that came up more than once. Firstly, it seems there is a couple of hours very very very early morning SL time in which people are finding themselves unable to contact a rep. Secondly, multi-lingual support was raised. In terms of the first issue, we will be addressing this immediately. We strive to provide 24 hour support. And while 22 out of 24 ‘ain’t bad,’ there is room for improvement. Please rest assured that as a matter of priority, we will be looking to arrange things so that a rep can be contacted AT ALL HOURS of the day.
In terms of multi-lingual support, we actually do have a native French and a native German speaker on the support team. This tells us that we need to work on communicating information about our staff to you better. Again, this will be addressed! For the record, M4TT Humphreys is a native German speaker and Angel Tzara a native French speaker (both with fluent English).
The other section of responses that were interesting were facility usage statistics. It seems that a lot of you are not aware of various facilities and schemes, such as the friend referral scheme, parcel swap scheme, resident freebie centre and so on. We do have information about all this on the welcome note card you receive upon parcel purchase and also on the website. But what is apparent is that this is not an effective way to communicate this information to you. We will work to improve this as well.
As I said, overall, the feedback was immaculate. A section of comments that seem to sumup the general response are below (don’t worry, I won’t name names hehe):-
“We really have been extremely pleased with Cove Islands. We’d only been in SL just under a month when we got our land from you, and every step of the way, we’ve been impressed with the experience. Please keep in mind that when I was researching land, there was a LOT of negative information about many different management companies, people losing money, having their Sims disappear, you name it. But everything we saw about CI was positive - so, we bought from you. It was a fortunate decision, because we’ve had absolutely nothing to complain about. Even though I know there are a number of services CI offers (yard sales, sandbox, etc.) that we haven’t taken advantage of - the fact that you DO offer them, that you take the time to ask how your residents feel about your performance - well, these are all reasons why CI is so incredible. You actually CARE about your customers, and it shows. Thanks to all of your staff for making our SL experience that much better. We don’t say it nearly enough, but your hard work is appreciated.”
“I’m as happy as a clam tucked away in my little VERY private corner of Mikela Cove. I can offer no recommendations on how to improve what I feel is already excellent service!”
“I have no complaints, only high praise for the way Cove Islands is run.”
“All I can say is keep up the great work! I wouldn;t keep coming back if i wasn’t happy :)”
Thank you all once again. As mentioned above, we will be addressing issues that were uncovered as a result of the survey. Even issues that were only mentioned in one survey response will be addressed.
What would be very much appreciated is that if anyone has any suggestions as to how we can implement improvements to the way in which we inform residents of facilities available to them, they do let us know, either with a comment here or by emailing support@coveislands.com. Please do remember that I am also happy to accept feedback of any kind in regard to Cove Islands, our policies and staff, at any time either by note card in game or by email to josue@coveislands.com.
In the meantime, you can find full information on the services, schemes and facilities mentioned above on the website. The knowledgebase in particular covers information on friend referrals and parcel swaps.
Thanks again, guys!

Changing the Sunset!
A number of people in Second Life™ contact Cove Islands looking for land that faces a default sunset angle. Since this is becoming an increasingly popular request, I thought I would show those of you who don’t already know, how to change the angel of your sunset. Only in Second Life can you move the sun around in a single click.
Start by facing the angle at which you want your sunset.

Change the sun settings
As displayed in the image, you can do this either by going to WORLD >>>ENVIRONMENT SETTINGS >>> SUNSET. As also shown there, you can use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-N. This will turn the time of day to sunset. It might be that you are already facing your sunset and therefore you don’t want to make any changes. Woot. However… if (like me) you’re left standing facing NO sunset you can change it!

It's hard to stare in a forlorn manner into a sunset when there isn't one there!
So to change the angle of the sun, it’s back to the menu bar at the top of your screen….

Go to WORLD >>> ENVIRONMENT SETTINGS >>> ENVIRONMENT EDITOR. Unfortunately there’s no assigned shortcut for this! That will bring up this window:

From here, you should click on “Advanced Sky,” which will then bring up a second panel:

On this window, you can see three tabs, “Atmosphere,” “Lighting” and “Clouds.” It is worth playing with settings on all these tabs, as with the Second Life Windlight settings you can create some pretty spectacular stuff. However, for the simple purpose of changing the sun angle, you shoudl click on the lighting tab. That will take you to:

As highlighted, the item you’re most concerned with here is “East Angle.” You can click and hold the slider and drag it up and down until you locate the sun where you want it. It’s that simple! As you drag the slider, keep an eye on your screen and just stop moving it when you get the sun in the location you want. You can then close the settings panels and enjoy your view.

Afterall, it is much easier to look forlornly into a sunset when you have one in front of you ;-)
You can alter the sun’s position in the sky no matter what ‘time of day’ setting you are on!
Group Owned Land in Second Life™
Anyone who owns land in Second Life will already have seen, I am sure, options relating to group (some of which were discussed in the ‘About Land Panel tutorial’). What isn’t made clear, however, in the About Land panel is what deeding and setting your land actually means!
First of all, let’s look at how to set and deed land.
Right click on the ground on your parcel and go to “About Land” in the pie menu that comes up. That will bring up the About Land panel.

About Land
You’ll see the owner name on here, in this case my name, Josue Habana. However, underneath the owner name you will also see ‘Group’ which has nothing next to it at the moment and a ’set’ button further along. If you click on the ’set’ button, this will bring up a list of your groups and you can select the appropriate group.

Set Group
After I have selected my group, you will see its name now appears beside the group option on About Land. At this stage my land is set to group. It is NOT deeded. The easiest way to see this is simply by the fact that my name alone shows up beside ‘owner’.

Deed to Group
However, you will see now that there is a box for ‘Allow Deed to Group’. If you check this, the ‘Deed’ button should highlight. It will NOT highlight unless you are an owner or an officer in the group or are in a role in that group that allows for deeding of land. Once the button highlights, you click on it and the name of the owner will now show (Group Owned) with the group’s name beneath it. That is deeding.
The ‘owner makes contribution with deed’ box concerns mainland more than private estate, as this relates to tier levels etc.
The Differences Between Deeding and Setting
Certain functions can only be carried out by group members on land that is deeded as opposed to set. For example, if you want group members to be able to set land to home location, the land must be deeded (this was a fairly recent change and some Second Life documentation indicates that it is possible by setting only… it is not possible this way any longer). However, if you simply want members of your group to be able to rezz objects or run scripts and so on, a simple ’set’ will do. The key point the remember is that with setting land to group in Second Life, you remain the owner. With deeding land to group in Second Life, the GROUP is the now the owner.
The Dangers with Deeding
Unfortunately, deeding land to group has its risks. Anyone with the right allocated within that group could set that land to sale at any point. This includes selling it to themselves for zero Lindens, making themselves the owner and not the group. We have come across cases within Cove Islands where group members have taken land from other group members this way. It is therefore adviseable only ever to deed land to a group that you are an OWNER in (that way you cannot be removed from the group by anyone else). It is also adviseable to use only a group in which people you know and trust have rights to sell or alter group land.
The nature of group owned land in Second Life is such that a large element of it comes down to trust and personal judgement.
If you have any questions about deeding or setting your Cove Islands parcel to group, please do not hesitate to contact support@coveislands.com
Where does my parcel end and protected land start?
A number of people judge the boundaries of a parcel of land in Second Life™ by right clicking on that land and going to ‘About Land’ as this brings up a temporary yellow line highlighting the boundaries. However…. there is a better way if you are looking to be able to view the property lines on your land in Second Life!

Go to the ‘view’ menu and down to ‘property lines’ around half way down.

Click on ‘property lines’ and you should see a cross appear next to it. As displayed here, pressing Ctrl-Alt-Shift-P will also turn on property lines, as opposed to the long way via the view menu.
Your parcel lines are now switched on. If you can’t see them, it might be that they’re under the water, as in the case of my parcel!

The red lines are the boundaries of parcels that DO NOT belong to you. The green lines are parcel boundaries of parcels that DO belong to you.
Another way to highlight parcel boundaries and see land you own more easily is by returning to the view menu and going to ‘land owners’.

Clicking on this will bring up a cross at the side of it and your new view will look something like this….

The green is land owned by you and the red is land owned by others. To turn off property lines or land owners, simply return to the view menu and click on those options again to uncheck them.
Et voila!
Bots and Campers
Hi guys! This is just a quick reminder about bots and campers on commercial and commerce parcels!
For almost 2 years now, Cove Islands has limited the number of bots or campers allowed on a parcel to one per 512sqm. This, for example, means that a 1024sqm parcel would be allowed 2, a 1600sqm would be permitted 3 etc.
The reason for this is that, as a large number of you will agree, traffic falsification obtained through the use of bots and campers is both a nuisance in terms of using sim resources and is something of a problem within Second Life™ as a whole. We do not want our business district turning into bot farms! At the moment we have a great and thriving commerce and commercial district with a diverse selection of stores and other businesses and some awesome traffic. The best of it… it’s all genuine! We would hate that to change and so we please ask you all to bear the limit in mind and not go over this. We know that bots in some cases do have legitimate purposes (e.g customer information) and this is why we do not want to ban them all together. We would just like to remind residents of the limit.
1 bot or camper per 512sqm land.
Thanks, guys!
The ‘About Land’ Panel
Hi guys. This is just a brief overview of about ‘About Land’ panel, of which residents of Cove Islands have full control. This will cover it all through from the basics to cater for those who have never owned land in Second Life™ before right through to those who maybe just want a reminder!
As soon as you purchase a parcel on Cove Islands for L$99 that parcel goes into your ownership. This means that you can alter settings such as media, parcel name and description and who has rights to build on your land etc. All of this is done using the ‘About Land’ panel. There are two ways to access this panel. You can either right click on the ground on your parcel and then to go ‘About Land’ or you can click at the top of your screen as shown below:

Clicking on the parcel or sim name is the alternative (and quicker) way to bring up the ‘About Land’ panel for the parcel you are standing on. In Second Life you can view ‘About Land’ for any parcel. However you can only edit the ‘About Land’ panel for your own parcel. When you click as above, the panel will open as below.

You will notice that along the top of this panel, there are several tabs: General, Covenant, Objects, Options, Media and Access. I will go through these one at a time.
General Tab
This tab is for editing the very basics such as land name and also displays some simple information about the parcel, such as its size.

The name of your parcel will appear at the top of the screen of anyone on your parcel. The description will not. Setting to group enables you, as we’ll see later on, to allow certain rights to members of a certain group, for example rezzing or running scripts. ‘Deed’ is a step further than ’set’. Deed actually means that the land becomes owned by that group and NOT by the indivual anymore. This is something that should be used with caution and upon deeding land to group in Second Life, you accept that anyone who is in the owner role in that group (or any other role with the rights assigned) could sell that parcel at anytime, even to themselves. Group owned land in Second Life is the cause of many disputes and deeding to group is only ever recommended when you trust those in your group 100%. Cove Islands is unabled to intervene in disputes of ownership in regard to group owned parcels.
Abandon enables you to vacate a parcel without selling it on yourself. If you hit this by mistake, contact support@coveislands.com
What you can also see from that image there is the parcel size, in this case 4352sqm. There is also a ‘traffic’ statistic. This is less relevant on residential parcels than on commercial parcels. But basically, Linden Lab use a complicated algorithm to calculate traffic on a daily basis according to how many people visited a parcel and how long they stayed for. This is converted to a traffic number and when people search places in Second Life, they are displayed by default in order of traffic.
The ‘claimed’ item shows the date on which the parcel went into the ownership of the current owner.
Covenant
The covenant tab displays the covenant for the estate on which your parcel lies. This covenant will also be displayed when you purchase the parcel. Linden Lab prevents you from purchasing a parcel until you have checked to say you have read and agreed to the covenant.

‘Region’ is the name of the sim again. ‘Estate’ is the name of the group of sims (which might just be one sim but is often more). The ‘Estate Owner’ is the avatar who owns the estate. This is the person to whom your parcel would be returned if you abandoned it. The covenant on Cove Islands specifies certain restrictions on zoning etc, ie that residential is just for houses. Covenants are in place to ensure a pleasant living experience and fair distribution of resources for all residents.
Objects
This tab deals with prims. The numbered points are detailed below the picture.

1. The region object bonus factor indicates whether any additional prims are allocated to each parcel on this sim. The number of prims on a full prim sim is 15000. This cannot be changed. However, estate owners may choose to keep some land back as ‘protected land’ in order that they can allocate more prims to the parcels for sale. This sim indicates a prim bonus of 1.25 which means there are 25% more prims than standard on each parcel. 1.00 is the standard prim allowance. On Cove Islands, the minimum bonus is 1.20, which is 20% more than standard. All commercial and commerce parcels have a region bonus of 2.00, which means there are double prims on each parcel.
2. ‘Primitives parcel supports’ is the number of prims you can have on this parcel. ‘Primitives on parcel’ indicates how many you already have on there. You will notice just above this is something about ’simulator primitive usage’. If you only have one parcel on a sim this will just be the number of prims your parcel can support, the number you have on it and the number remaining for you to use. If, however, you have more than one parcel on the same sim, then you will find this number takes into account the prim counts from each parcel you have on the simulator.
3 and 6. The show buttons you will see are next to ‘owned by parcel owner’ and ’set to group’. These tags are something of a subcategory of the ‘primitives on parcel’. It elaborates on the prims on your parcel by telling you how many are owned by the sim owner and how many are not. The ’show’ button beside each one highlights the prims owned by the owner/set to group. The ‘return’ button here allows a parcel owner to simply return all the prims on a parcel that do not belong to them or all those that do. This is a quick means of returning prims from a parcel.
4. Autoreturn of other residents’ prims is a very handy feature for those people who do not wish to prevent people from rezzing on their parcels, but who, at the same time, do not want a load of junk left lying on their parcel eating up prim count! The autoreturn time is the time after which any prims that do not belong to the land owner (or that are not set to the group if applicable) are returned to their owners. For example, if you had this set to 10, then anyone rezzing objects on your land would automatically have these objects returned to their Lost & Found folders in their inventory ten minutes later.
5. ‘Refresh List’ under object owners is a further elaboration of prims on parcel. As opposed to just telling you how many prims not owned by you are on the parcel, this gives you the ability to see a list of people who have prims on your parcel and the number of prims they have. If you click ‘refresh list’ the list will come up. From here you can click on one of the names on that list and then click ‘Return Objects’ (greyed out as on this image until you hit ‘refresh list’) and only prims belonging to the person whose name you clicked are returned.
This tab is basically the tab from which you can monitor any objects on your land.
Options
The options tab is the tab from which you can have a little more control over things such as who can rezz on your parcel, where people can land when teleporting to your parcel and other things people can and cannot do. Numbered points are elaborated below the picture.

1. The first part of the ‘Allow Other Residents to’ area allows you to dictate whether you wish to allow people to edit terrain, fly and create landmarks on your parcel. Editing terrain means terraforming. If this box is checked then absolutely anyone will be able to make terraforming changes to your parcel. We strongly recommend that you have this box unchecked. This would save a nasty surprise of logging in one day to find someone has created holes of hills all over your land! If you check ‘create landmarks’ it means people are allowed to take landmarks on your parcel. It is a personal preference whether you want people to be able to do this or not. Same with fly, to be honest. However, it is worth noting that people can still fly on ‘no-fly’ parcels just by enabling admin options (ctrl + alt + v). And there is always a workaround for the landmarks too, as someone could stand just off your parcel boundary and take a landmark from the next parcel or protected land surrounding your plot. This landmark would take them pretty close to you!
2. It is these options that really give you more control. The first, ‘create objects’ is building and rezzing basically. If you have ‘all residents’ checked, then absolutely anyone will be able to come by your parcel and rezz their items there. Cove Islands does not recommend that you enable buildin this way for just anyone, as this opens up the possibility of your parcel being exploited by griefers. If you have ‘all residents’ unchecked and just ‘group’ checked, then only people in the group to which your parcel is set (if it is set to one) will be able to rezz objects or build and they will have to be wearing the group tag. This is effective as it enables you to permit building and rezzing to those who may need it without leaving your parcel open to attack from griefers. If neither ‘all residents’ or ‘group’ are checked, then the only person who will be able to rezz items on your parcel is you, the named land owner. The same concept applies to ‘object entry’ and ‘run scripts’. Object entry means people pushing objects onto your parcel from another or, for example, driving a vehicle onto your parcel. ‘Run Scripts’ basically means that, if enabled, scripted objects owned by others will work on your parcel. If run scripts is disabled for everyone then someone coming along and rezzing an object on your parcel would not be able to run the scripts in that object.
3. These land options cover whether your land is damage enabled, mature and shows in search. Damage enabled land is great for combat. With damage in Second Life, the way it works is that any collision you have (either with an object or person, or even falling from the sky) eats away at your health. Once your health is zeroed, you are teleported home. If you do not want combat on your parcel, or at least any means by which someone might be teleported home if they collide with a lot of objects, then ensure that ’safe’ IS checked. Unchecking it means your land is damage enabled. ‘Show place in search’ decides whether your parcel is listed in place search in Second Life. If you check this box you will be able to select a category for your parcel and it will show up for someone searching in places (or under ‘all’) for words that match your title or description. Linden Lab charge 30L per week for this service, however it is arguably the most effective way of having people find your parcel. Therefore for those with commerce or commercial parcels we strongly recommend that you do list. For those on residential who hope to obtain a little privacy, we recommend UNCHECKING this box in order that your parcel will NOT show up in search. ‘Mature content’ should be checked if there is any adult content or activity on your parcel. This is less essential for us as all Cove Islands sims are marked mature anyway.
4. The snapshot is simply the picture that shows up on your parcel in place search, if listed there and also on any landmarks taken. This might be a picture of your avatar or the land itself… maybe your logo if you have a commercial parcel. This is personal preference. Clicking in the snapshot in this tab will open your inventory to window to allow you to select another texture for it. Alternatively you can drag textures from your inventory onto the snapshot in the tab and change it that way too.
5. The landing point is a way in which you can decide where anyone teleporting to your parcel will land. For example, if you have a commercial parcel you might want them to land right at your doorway. If you have a residential parcel you may want to just make sure anyone teleporting there lands on the ground. The way to set this is simply to stand at the location you wish to make your landing point and click on ’set’. Then ensure that ‘teleport routing’ is set to ‘landing point’ from the drop down menu. ‘Anywhere’ means people will not necessarily land at your landing point. The other option on that drop down menu is ‘blocked’ which prevents people from teleporting directly to your parcel. However, it does not prevent them teleporting to just outside your parcel any flying onto it.
Media
The media tab is the tab from which you can control which radio station you listen to, for example, using the Second Life media streaming.

1. This is the media streaming section. From here you can enter the URL of a movie you might have. Alternatively you may wish to display a website. The website or movie will display on any television you might have or on any prim on your parcel displaying the texture shown below this area. Anyone with Second Life media streaming enabled will be able to watch that movie or view that website when they are on your parcel.
2. This is the music section from which you can decide on a radio station to listen to. Just enter the URL into the space. There are a list of radio URLs here or you may have one of your own. Anyone with music streaming enabled will hear your choice of station if they play their in game music stream while on your parcel.
3. This option allows you to decide whether to restrict spatialized sound to your parcel. If this is checked, nobody outside your parcel will hear sounds from objects on your parcel. In addition, while on your parcel, you will not be able to hear sounds from objects outside of your parcel. This is handy if you are irritated, for example, my a neighbour’s birds or waterfall sound effects.
4. This section gives you the ability to decide on which channel you use for your voice on your parcel. If you select ‘Use the Estate spatial channel’ this means that you can hear the voice of those off your parcel and they can hear yours. This could include people on neighbouring sims, if you are near a boundary or even if they are camming over. This is the channel for the entire estate. However, this is ideal if you want to be able to have conversations with neighbours without leaving your parcel. Using a private spatial channel means that anyone on your parcel will be able to hear each other in voice, however nobody off the parcel will be able to hear voice coming from your parcel, regardless of distance. In the same way, you will not be able to hear any voice from outside your parcel while on it if you select this option. The final option is to disable voice all together, meaning that nobody will be able to use voice on your parcel, except for in private voice calls.
Access
This is the area from which you can control certain access options on your parcel. However, there is a clause in our covenant preventing the usage of one of the tools on here, as explained below.

1. The main element of this section of the tab is the ‘Allow Public Access’. UNCHECKING this means that everyone (apart from those named in the allow list or in any group you permit access to) would see the red ban lines you have probably seen when trying to fly onto your parcel. The Cove Islands Covenant states that allowing public access must be checked simply because ban lines (or red fences) are an annoyance and an eye sore. They prevent people from sailing around the sim or flying around. We instead encourage use of a security system to hurry people by your parcel or eject those hovering over your land. In addition we prohibit the use of the ‘block access by’ functions. Checking either of those would mean that either those who have not been age verified or those who have no put payment information on file would encounter ban lines when trying to access your parcel or fly past it. For the same reasons as above, we also prohibit this type of banning and ask residents to leave those boxes unchecked. Because we require people to have public access enabled, the next functions are greyed out. However on sims where ban lines are permitted, people can also choose, using these boxes, to charge people to access their parcel or restrict admittance to a group.
2. Adding someone to the allowed list is not necessary with land on Cove Islands. This is because public access is enabled. However, on sims where public access does not have to be enabled, people may choose to add certain avatars to their allowed list. These select people would then not encounter ban lines even if public access was disabled.
3. The ban list is a function that Cove Islands does permit the use of. In fact, we encourage you to add people to this list who harrass you in any way or specific people you do not wish to be able to access your land. This list holds up to 300 people. We would recommend not banning neighbours unless absolutely necessary, as any individual on that list will encounter red ban lines when attempting to access your parcel. In addition, they will be unable to select, buy or use any objects on your parcel. This is the way in which you can control access to your parcel and prevent certain individuals from invading your privacy without using ban lines that cause an inconvenience for everyone. Simply click on ‘add’ and then a window will come up in which you can search the avatar you wish to add. When you have names on there, you can click on any name and then ‘remove’ to take them off your ban list.
Please note that if anyone is being a perisistant nuisance despite being parcel banned, ie standing outside your parcel harrassing you, please email support@coveislands.com and we will look into the possibility of an estate ban, which would mean that individual would be unable to access any of the Cove Islands sims.
That covers the main aspects of the About Land panel and should give you some insight as to what you can control on your land in Second Life. And remember, if you are a Cove Islands resident and have any questions about your parcel, you can always contact support@coveislands.com
Thanks! :)

Teachers ———–>
Looking for teachers in all subjects, including: Technology (Peogramming in all languages, Web Technology, Search Engines, Internet Marketing, etc.), Humanities (Music, Art, Writing, Literature, etc.) Science and Math, Business, Languages, and more.
With long experience in this area at The Learning Experience we have discovered it is more difficult to find responsible teachers than filling up their classes. We are always actively seeking teachers in all subjects, from the classical all the way to Second Life building. We want to be able to offer classes and workshops in all subjects that a University offers. Here are some of the requirements and some of our policies.
? You are responsible and you can teach on the same day at the same time every week.
? You have total operational Voice capabilities, both in microphone and speakers (or a headset).
? You have real background in the area you wish to teach.
? The motto of The Learning Experience is “Where Knowledge & Education Are Always Free” and therefore we do not ever charge students for courses. ALL COURSES ARE FREE FOR THOSE WHO COME and no charge will be made either by The Learning Experience or by the teacher. This includes NO CHARGE for any objects, textures etc.
? If you manage to keep a responsible schedule to your classes and show an average of 5-6 students per week over a period of at least the first six weeks, at that time The Learning Experience may negotiate payment with you for further classes.
? Possible Exceptions To The Above Rule where TLE may decide to pay you a negotiated fee after 2 classes (judging by interest and success):
1. You are a licensed Teacher or Professor or Doctoral or Post-Doc student with an accredited University Degree (please, no Internet bought degrees here because we do check them), you will be paid a negotiated fee from the beginning for your workshops and classes.
2. You are in a creative field such as writing, music or art and have REAL WORLD provable credits in these areas.
3. You are in a business area you are teaching about, and run a successful business in real life. (A good example—Real Estate Investments etc.)
4. You offer an incredibly unique program to The Learning Experience where you can guarantee at least 15 students per class.
? In all cases mentioned in the exceptions above, the decision of The Learning Experience Board of Directors is final.
? In all cases there will NEVER be a charge to students for classes or workshops.
? Obviously you must be in Second Life to teach and have a fairly good understanding of how Second Life works.
? Remember all fees are in Lindens! Though you will not make what you make in the real world, you will be able to spread your name and capabilities to a wide audience. This should not be disregarded. Many real world contracts have their roots from Second Life meetings and classes.
